Baan Jakawan

Chaweng beach
14 pers. max. 7 bedrooms 4 staff

What we love

  • Large, beautifully maintained garden that hosts a wide range and multitude of exotic plants
  • Large infinity lap pool that has a narrower strip that connects the main pool with a smaller circular pool that is perfect for children or relaxation. This circular pool has a Thai temple-styled sala in the middle of it
  • The luxurious outdoor sala has a swim-up bar, a dining table and an outdoor cooking area including a grill.

Baan Jakawan is not your average 7 bedroomed villa, as it hosts a multitude of luxuries that can barely be found anywehre else.

This villa is made up of pavilions, which allows the wonders of outdoor living to be truly incoporated as you walk through the gardens to get to the different spaces, facilities and amenities that Baan Jakawan has to offer. Many of this villa's guests admire the Thai temple-styled roofs, which give this particular villa a very regal appearance.

The main pavilion consists of all the living spaces, which include the kitchen, living room and dining room. This space is open-plan and has a 12 seater dining table, luxurious sofas, and a large flat screen TV. To the rear of this room, there are doors that open out to the beautiful and private landscaped garden. In comparison, at the front of the room is a glass wall that opens out to the outdoor living and dining areas, which are perfect for an alfresco meal. The floor below can be accessed from stairs on either side of the living space. This leads down to three ensuite bedrooms. Like with all the bedrooms, there is a large plasma TV and an audio system. In the front of the pavilion, at this ground level is the infinity pool which is truly breathtaking and is definitely the main outdoor feature of this villa, along with the outdoor sala which is perfect for entertaining guests and can seat up to 20 people.

A further staircase leads below the pool bar and to another ensuite bedroom with a four poster bed. Twin sinks face a large terrazzo bathtub and there is an open wet room with a stone seat and four showers. This really sums up the magnitude of imagination that has gone into the design of this villa.

The most highly placed of the pavilions is the bedroom pavilion, which boasts front and back outdoor terraces and balconies which offer spectacular views of the villa's surroundings including the lush tropical greenery. The double bedroom located here is en-suite with it's own free-standing terrazzo bathtub.
Whilst this villa is indeed very grand, there is also an element of being at one with the natural environment. Not only is this seen through the beautiful, tropical landscape but is perfectly displayed by the hot water in this villa being provided by solar heating. Not only is this villa luxurious, but it is also environmentally friendly in so many ways.

From the moment we arrived at the airport, my group and I were absolutely pampered. The staff truly made the week one that we will never ever forget. They were so helpful, kind and respectful of all of us. They made everything so simple and enjoyable. Our villa, Baan Jakawan, was just breathtaking. Every room was incredible. We truly had no complaints about the villa! The pool was more than we could've ever dreamed it would be and the facility as a whole was just spectacular!

My friends and I were very much looking forward to this vacation, and we were not disappointed. The Villa, View, and Service surpassed our expectations! The Villa Manager and her staff (6 people) catered to our every need from arranging in-house massages to private boat charters to neighboring islands. Chef Un is an artist in the kitchen - no need to dine out. He can cook everything from western breakfast to traditional homestyle Thai dinners. I definitely recommend you have him throw some meats on the BBQ. Each morning they will ask us what foods we wanted and they would drive down to the market and purchase the freshest seafood and meats on the island. Overall, Baan Jakawan is true luxury living in paradise. The Villa has a traditional Thai feel with all the touches of a modern mansion. Each bedroom suite has ample privacy from the other rooms. The staff, more so than the amazing view, made our 5 days a fantastic visit.

Baan Jakawan was an absolutely fantastic villa that fit the needs of our group perfectly. Staff were extremely professional, friendly and completely went out of their way to help attend to any needs we had. The in-house chef cooked us up some unbelievable meals during our stay (her lobster dish was out of this world!!) The villa lived up to every expectation and more, we would most definitely go back to Baan Jakawan again and would highly recommend it. All in all an amazing holiday and one that will never be forgotten! Thank you Luxury Retreats!

Our stay was perfect – the staff and the villa could not be faulted – the staff were professional, extremely friendly, extremely helpful and never stopped working. The cleanliness of the place, the facilities (especially tv/stereo setup in each room, the pool and bool bar), the food the chef cooked, the maintenance of all villa facilities and overall service from all staff was excellent - better than any 5star hotel any of us had stayed at. The villa was better than what we expected and would definitely go back there again or recommend to anyone travelling to south-east asia.
